I've had uneven eyelids for a long time, and it was something that always bothered me. Many people might wonder whether it's worth flying all the way back to Thailand for cosmetic surgery. But for me, if it's something that helps boost my confidence and it's done by a doctor I truly trust, then it's absolutely worth it.
Worried About Uneven Eyes for Years
I've been thinking about getting double eyelid surgery for years because my eyelids were uneven. Since I live abroad, I wanted to take my time researching and finding a clinic I could truly trust. I usually have limited time every trip back to Thailand, so I didn't want to make a rushed decision or choose a clinic based on reviews.

Before double eyelid surgery
When I arrived for my appointment, Dr. Coke carefully examined my eye structure and explained everything in detail. He pointed out that my left eyelid looked more hidden than my right because excess eyelid skin was covering the natural crease, making my eyes appear uneven. One thing I really appreciated was that Dr. Coke recommended what was best for my own facial features rather than suggesting a larger eyelid crease or following beauty trends. His goal was to create a result that looked balanced and natural for me.
I have to admit, I was a little nervous before the surgery since it was my first cosmetic procedure. However, the staff were incredibly kind and kept talking to me throughout the process, which helped me relax. During the surgery, Dr. Coke explained each step as he went along, so the experience was much less intimidating than I had imagined.
After the procedure, I experienced the expected swelling, which is completely normal. The clinic gave me very detailed aftercare instructions, including how to use cold and warm compresses, how to keep the incision dry, how to take my medication, and other important precautions. Thanks to their clear guidance, I felt confident and comfortable throughout my recovery.
Results Were Beyond My Expectations
During the first few days, I experienced some tightness around my eyelids, which is completely normal after surgery. I carefully followed all of the doctor's post-operative instructions throughout my recovery. Nine days later, I returned to the clinic to have my stitches removed. By then, my eyelid creases were healing beautifully and settling into place. The staff also recommended applying warm compresses for another two to three days to reduce the remaining swelling and speed up the healing process.

Three weeks after my surgery, I could already see a noticeable difference. My eyes looked brighter, and my overall appearance felt more refreshed. I also felt much more confident when putting on makeup and taking photos. I no longer had to worry about finding the "better" side of my face or carefully choosing certain angles like I used to. The biggest change for me was that my left eyelid, which used to be more hidden, had become much more defined. Looking straight ahead, both eyes now appeared balanced and symmetrical. I'm really excited to see the final result over the next three to six months as the swelling continues to settle.
Another thing I love is how much easier it is to do my eye makeup now. My eyeliner is finally visible instead of disappearing into my eyelid crease, and I don't have to draw and erase it over and over again. It saves me so much time and makes getting ready every day much easier.
