Double Eyelid Revision: Can I Make My Crease Smaller

Anyone who has had double eyelid surgery before knows how nervous you can feel during the recovery period, as it takes some time for the eyelid crease to fully settle. Some people may feel that their crease becomes smaller, while others may find it too high or too thick, making the results look unnatural.

I was one of them, so I decided to have revision double eyelid surgery to make my crease smaller at Lovely Eye & Skin Clinic. Today, I’m going to share my experience from the consultation with the doctor all the way through the recovery period. If you’re looking for the right place for double eyelid revision surgery, I hope my review can help you make your decision.

Why Did I Want to Make Eyelid Crease Smaller

BASELINE EYE: Before double eyelid surgery and ptosis surgery

I had double eyelid surgery before, but once the incisions healed and the creases started to settle, I noticed that my right eyelid crease was visibly higher than the left. Therefore, my double eyelids look uneven. It wasn’t the soft, sweet, and youthful look I wanted at all.

At first, I thought makeup might help balance them out, but it actually made my right eye stand out even more and made the unevenness easier to notice. It became something I constantly felt self-conscious about, so I decided to look for a double eyelid clinic that could correct the uneven creases and make both sides more symmetrical and better suited to my face.

Did Double Eyelid Revision Surgery Really Help?

During my consultation with Dr. Coke Lovely Eye (Dr. Akarawit Eiamsamarng, Medical License No. 43184), I told him that I wanted double eyelids that would give my face a softer and sweeter appearance. He explained that my previous eyelid surgery could be revised by releasing the old creases from my previous surgery and creating new ones that would look more even. He also recommended levator muscle adjustment because I had some weakness in the eyelid muscles, which made my eyes look sleepy. This technique would help make my eyes look brighter and adjust the eyelid muscles so I could open my eyes more fully.

After the consultation, I decided to book my surgery with Dr. Coke right away. He explained everything in detail, which helped me understand both my eye concerns and the techniques that would be used to correct them. I felt confident that this double eyelid revision would give me the beautiful results I was looking for.

Aftercare Tips for Double Eyelid Revision

After my double eyelid revision surgery, my doctor advised me to follow the self-care instructions very carefully. During the initial recovery period, I made sure to keep the incision completely dry until three days after the stitches were removed. I also avoided rubbing my eyes to prevent irritation and reduce the risk of infection. When sleeping, I switched to lying on my back with my head elevated on a high pillow, even though I normally sleep on my side, as side sleeping could put pressure on the eye area.

I also avoided wearing makeup around my eyes and stopped using contact lenses. Following my doctor’s advice, I stayed away from spicy foods, fermented or pickled foods, and alcoholic beverages to support proper healing and help the eyelid crease settle beautifully and naturally.

Results After Double Eyelid Revision

1 month

At that stage, my eyelids were still a little swollen since it had only been about a month since the surgery. I continued to massage the area with the prescribed medication as recommended by my doctor, using gentle circular motions from the center of the eyelid toward the inner corner of the eye to help reduce the swelling.

5 months

After five months, my eyelid creases had fully settled into place. As you can see in the photo, my right eyelid crease, which used to be higher than the left, had become much more even and symmetrical. The overall results gradually improved throughout the recovery period, and I was very happy with the changes.

Any Advice to Give Those Who Had High Crease After Double Eyelid Surgery

For anyone who has had double eyelid surgery before and feels that their eyelid crease is too large or too high, don’t lose confidence just yet. This type of concern can be assessed and corrected with proper treatment planning. The most important thing is to consult a doctor who is experienced specifically in double-eyelid revision surgery. Consulting an ophthalmologist can be even more beneficial, as they can carefully evaluate your eye structure, identify the cause of the problem, and select the most suitable technique for your individual case.

Not every case can be corrected using the same approach. Designing an eyelid crease that complements both the natural shape of the eyes and the overall facial structure is also an essential part of achieving a beautiful and natural-looking result. For my revision surgery, I chose Lovely Eye & Skin Clinic. Their double-eyelid procedures use Dr. Roungkaw Technique, which has been adapted from Korean-style double-eyelid surgery techniques. Another key focus is eyelid design, with an emphasis on creating a natural-looking crease that suits each person’s unique eye structure and facial features.

If you have previously had double-eyelid surgery but feel that your eyelid crease is too high and are wondering whether it can be revised to make it smaller, I would recommend consulting the Lovely Specialist medical team at Lovely Eye & Skin Clinic for a detailed assessment. The doctors can evaluate your concerns and design a treatment plan tailored to you, with the goal of creating a more balanced, natural-looking eyelid crease.
