My name is Milin, Ihad previously undergone double eyelid surgery at another clinic. As someone who loves fashion, makeup, and taking photos, I wanted my eyes to look beautiful and photogenic. However, the results were disappointing. Not only I did not get symmetrical eyes, but the crease line also did not follow the eye shape, making them appear unnatural.
I eventually decided to undergo double eyelid revision surgery along with inner corner opening, following the recommendation of the Lovely Specialist medical team at Lovely Eye & Skin Clinic. I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. That's why I would like to share I experience with anyone considering double eyelid surgery or revision surgery.

BASELINE EYE: Uneven eyelids with excess fat, skin fold covering the inner corners of the eyes, the irises looked too close to the inner corners, causing the eyes to appear less balanced
The first thing I learned was that it’s important to understand the eye-related issues I had. My doctor explained that many people have droopy eyelids, which cause the eyelid crease to become hidden, resulting in hooded eyes—a very common concern among Thai people. The typical solution is double eyelid surgery, which involves removing excess eyelid skin (or excess eyelid fat) and then creating a new eyelid crease to achieve a more defined double eyelid. In my case, however, this procedure was not a primary double eyelid surgery but a revision surgery. The technique was similar in that excess skin was removed, but my surgeon also had to remove the old sutures from my previous surgery and release scar tissue that had formed beneath the skin.
In addition, my doctor recommended combining the procedure with inner corner opening. This helps remove the skin fold that covers the inner corners of the eyes, making the eyes appear longer and more refined. It also helps position the irises more centrally, creating overall balance to my eyes. This procedure is particularly suitable for people with closed inner corners, excess skin folds around the inner corners, or irises that appear too close to the inner corners of the eyes.
On the day of my surgery, I decided to follow my doctor’s recommendations and undergo both double eyelid revision surgery and inner corner opening. Before the procedure, my doctor carefully assessed the amount of excess eyelid skin and fat that needed to be removed. A new eyelid crease was then designed to complement my eye socket shape, ensuring a well-defined crease that followed the natural contour of my eyes and looked natural rather than artificial. My doctor also evaluated the skin fold covering my inner corners to determine how much tissue needed to be removed, allowing the inner corners to open up and creating a longer, more attractive eye shape.
One of the most important things to prepare before surgery is your own physical condition. I was advised to stop taking any medications, vitamins, or supplements that could affect blood clotting, as well as avoid alcohol for at least two weeks before the procedure.
Another tip for anyone who regularly uses eyelid tape or eyelid stickers: try to stop using them at least one week before surgery. This makes it easier for the surgeon to accurately design your new eyelid crease. It’s also best to avoid heavy makeup on the day of surgery, as any leftover makeup residue could increase the risk of infection.
If you feel nervous especially before the procedure, don’t hesitate to talk to the clinic staff. The clinic provides anti-anxiety medication before surgery if needed. Personally, I found the procedure much more at ease than I expected. My surgeon had a very gentle touch and continuously ensured that the anesthesia was working properly throughout the surgery. The doctor provided attentive care and the staff stayed by my side during the whole procedure, regularly checking on how I was feeling. Their care and support made me feel comfortable, relaxed, and well taken care of throughout the experience.

LOVELY EYE 3 DAYS
Three days after my revision surgery was probably when the swelling was at its peak, but it was a normal condition after surgery. I was able to open my eyes normally, my vision was unaffected. However, I didn’t experience any pain or tightness.
I was also very impressed with how neatly my surgeon closed the incisions. The eyelid crease looked smooth and natural, without any overly thick or uneven appearance. During the first few days, it’s important to take extra care of the healing process. I made sure to apply cold compresses regularly, as frequent cold compresses can help reduce swelling and speed up recovery. Sleeping with my head elevated on a higher pillow than usual also helped minimize swelling significantly.

LOVELY EYE 14 DAYS
14 days later, it was time for suture removal procedure. The eyelid creases became visible with less swelling. The creases followed the natural eyelid folds. On the other hand, my eyelashes appeared more lifted than usual. It did take some time to get used to my new look, but that’s completely normal. My doctor explained that it usually takes about 3–6 months for the eyelids to fully settle into their final shape.
After my stitches were removed, I was able to wash my face as usual. However, I made sure to cleanse my face gently and avoid rubbing my eyes, since the incisions had only recently healed and were still settling. I could wear makeup, but I avoided applying any products around the eye area. My doctor recommended waiting at least another week before wearing eye makeup to allow the healing process to continue smoothly.

LOVELY EYE 25 DAYS
About nearly a month after surgery, the eyelids continued to settle. When I tried to apply full makeup with eyeliner, which made my eyes appear brighter and more refreshed. Without the excess skin my eyelids, my eyes no longer looked droopy and appeared more youthful and awake.

LOVELY EYE 1 MONTH
After my double eyelid revision surgery, I regained my confidence completely. I no longer have to worry about droopy eyelids or closed inner corners, and my photos look much better because I’m no longer self-conscious about my eyes. What I really impressed me is that the doctor took a comprehensive approach to correcting concerns I had. The goal wasn’t just to make my eyes look more beautiful, but to create long-lasting, natural-looking results. I feel confident knowing that the underlying causes were properly addressed, so I don’t have to worry about my eyelids drooping again or needing another revision surgery in the future.
If you’re planning to undergo double eyelid surgery or treat any eye-related concerns, I highly recommend consulting with the doctors at Lovely Eye & Skin Clinic. Their expertise and attention to detail made all the difference in my experience and results.
